About M.Woodhouse Transport Ltd: Our History

Pioneering Haulage Services Nationwide Since 1967

Beginnings on the Quayside

It all began with Malcolm James Woodhouse and a single wagon on the Quayside of Lancaster, from these modest beginnings, M.Woodhouse Transport Ltd was born. In 1967, the company solidified its presence in the industry by becoming a limited company, laying the groundwork for a future of growth and expansion.

Haulage Expansion and Evolution

In 1978, M.Woodhouse Transport Ltd took a significant step forward by acquiring part of the Lancaster Power Station coal yard. This strategic move from the Quay to the spacious depot on Caton Road, Lancaster, was more than a change of location—it was an expansion of vision and capability. The new space provided the opportunity for the company to grow and evolve.

Legacy and Future

Following Malcom's passing in 2009, his legacy continued under the stewardship of his son, Mal, who upheld the family tradition of exceptional haulage services. Upon Mal's retirement, the company entered a new era with Bulmans Bulk & Haulage in October 2021. Today, M.Woodhouse Transport Ltd stands as a testament to a rich history while steering towards a future of innovation and continued excellence in the haulage sector.
